Seven minutes later, Liverpool double their lead from Diogo Jota. He connected with a pass inside the box and slammed home inside the left post.

The Liverpool striker made it 4-0 on first half added time, as he latched on to a precise pass inside the box and sent in a superb strike that found its way into the bottom right corner.

Messi’s two goals against Marseille was not counted.

PSG are now in pole position to reclaim the Ligue 1 title from Lille

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) recorded a 2-1 win against Marseille at the Parc des Princes and extended their lead at the top of the Ligue 1 standings to 15 points. Mauricio Pochettino’s side look well set to reclaim their domestic crown from Lille and took another step towards doing so with a victory in Le Classique.

Neymar broke the deadlock for PSG with a sensational first-time finish as he lobbed the ball past goalkeeper Pau Lopez after getting on the end of a Marco Verratti pass. The Parisians, however, looked a bit sluggish after scoring and were made to pay as Duje Caleta-Car poked the ball home from close range after Gigi Donnarumma failed to collect a corner.

The PSG goalkeeper has been underwhelming in recent weeks and once again cost his team a goal to gift Marseille a way back into the game. Lionel Messi produced multiple flashes of brilliance in the first half, but the Argentine had two goals chalked off for offside as he failed to add to his tally of three Ligue 1 goals this season.

The home side, however, did manage to get in front just before the interval, as Kylian Mbappe calmly converted a penalty after PSG were awarded a spot-kick upon consultation with VAR for a handball.

Neymar demands pay rise if he will be staying at PSG

Following the statement his father made, who is also his agent, that Neymar has a future at Paris-Saint Germain and he will be staying there, this will most likely come at a certain cost.

This certain cost will most likely be around the sum of a million pounds per week if he does decide to stay at PSG.

Recently, heavy speculations have been circling around that he might easily go to Real Madrid, as they were the ones who eliminated them from the Champions League, or might decide to go back to Barca from where he was transferred a year ago for the ground-breaking 222 million euro.

Considering those rumours, Neymar seems to be very well aware of the leverage he has as his current team will certainly want to keep their best player in the current roster and will decide to use it to even more increase his own salary.

Messi will have the word Goat on his sleeve from next season😲

We all know how heated the debate about Lionel Messi being the GOAT gets. And that hot-headed discussion will probably be rekindled again after a new sponsorship agreement announced by PSG.

The French team will partner with sneakers marketplace GOAT for the next three years — in a deal worth $55 million — allowing them to stamp their logo on the sleeve of PSG’s 2022-23 jersey.

Messi will not be the only one carrying the word GOAT on his sleeve. The deal includes the whole PSG squad, including Sergio Ramos.

Commenting on the agreement, PSG said:

“It’s official. The iconic French club and global lifestyle platform team up to bring football and fashion to a new generation of fans worldwide. The multi-year partnership will see GOAT branding displayed on the sleeve of Paris Saint-Germain’s legendary kits beginning next season, with exclusive collaborations, archival collections, innovative content, and more launching soon.”

Benzema’s goal sends Real Madrid to the Ucl semi’s

Karim Benzema scored an extra-time goal to send Real Madrid into the UEFA Champions League (UCL) semi-final despite a 3-2 loss to Chelsea in the quarter-final second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday.

The 13-time UCL winners stopped Chelsea’s potential comeback with two late goals, coming from three goals down to claim a 5-4 aggregate win in the two-legged tie.

Goals from Mason Mount, Anthony Rudiger, and Timo Werner put Chelsea close to a historic comeback, but Real Madrid produced a late show thanks to goals from Rodrygo and Karim Benzema, the team’s talismanic striker, on a drama-filled night.

The 120 minutes of wonderful football artistry started with Chelsea taking the lead on 15 minutes through a well-struck curling shot from Mount. After the interval, Rudiger made it 2-0 with a header before Werner handed Chelsea an aggregate lead against the slumbering European giants with a well-taken goal 15 minutes from time.

A trio of changes woke the sleeping hosts with Rodrygo, one of the substitutes, volleying into the bottom corner ten minutes from time to force extra time where Benzema punished Chelsea with another header on 96 minutes.

Cristiano Ronaldo assaulted my son “Sarah Kelly says”

The mother of the Everton fan who had his phone smashed by Cristiano Ronaldo has blasted the Manchester United superstar’s “rude” and “weak” apology.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was caught on camera smacking a phone out of the hand of 14-year-old Toffees supporter Jacob Harding as he made his way back to the Goodison Park dressing rooms following United’s 1-0 defeat. The Merseyside Police have since launched an investigation into the incident to determine whether any kind of criminal offence took place on Saturday afternoon.

Emotions were running high after United suffered yet another disappointing result and Ronaldo let his temper get the better of him as he smashed the phone. Later on that night, the 37-year-old took to Instagram to address the incident and issue an apology.

Ronaldo wrote: “It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing. Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game. I would like to apologize for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair-play and sportsmanship. Jacob’s mum Sarah Kelly said;’How rude – you are telling everybody you have apologised and you haven’t’. OK, you have put it out to social media but…you should be apologising to my son.

Sarah Kelly insist her son was assaulted.

Real Madrid defeats Chelsea for the first time in history.

Karim Benzema’s majestic hat-trick – his second in as many Champions League games – gave Real Madrid a memorable 3-1 victory over Chelsea in the first leg of their quarter-final.

In a dramatic, sometimes ragged game at Stamford Bridge, Benzema’s sheer expertise was thrillingly decisive. He gave Madrid the lead in the 21st minute with a brilliantly imaginative header from 15 yards after playing a one-two-three with Vinicius Jr.

Three minutes later Benzema scored another majestic header, steering Luka Modric’s teasing cross back across Edouard Mendy with just enough curl to take it into the corner.

Kai Havertz brought Chelsea back into the tie with a brave header of his own, ignoring Dani Carvajal’s flying boot to power Reece James’s cross through Thibaut Courtois.

Chelsea had renewed hope at half-time, but it was shattered in the first minute of the second half when a loose pass from Edouard Mendy allowed Benzema to roll the ball into the empty net.

The substitute Romelu Lukaku missed a terrific chance to make it 3-2 and Hakim Ziyech shot just over in injury-time. It means that Chelsea will go to Madrid needing to win by two goals just to take the tie to extra-time.

Lionel Messi’s net worth.

What is Lionel Messi’s net worth?
Lionel Messi is an Argentinian-born professional athlete who is often regarded as the best soccer player in the world. Lionel Messi’s net worth is $600 million. Lionel Messi earned the majority of his net worth as a striker and winger for FC Barcelona. On August 10, 2021 it was announced that Lionel would move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain. He also plays for the Argentina National Team. During his time with Barcelona, Lionel scored 672 goals in 778 games.

Lionel Messi is likely the highest-paid soccer player in the world and definitely one of the highest paid athletes in the world overall. His earth-shattering 2017 contract with Barcelona gave Messi an average base annual salary of $168 million. He also earns roughly $40 million per year from endorsements, which meant under that contract he was making around $200 million per year.

Despite what you might have read in some lower quality sources, Lionel Messi is NOT A BILLIONAIRE. By the time his contract Barcelona was over, with endorsements he earned north of $1.3 billion. By our count he has earned around $900 million in salary to date and $400 million from endorsements. Some outlets misread that stat and declared him a “billionaire”. His next contract after the 2020 season will easily be one of the largest sports contracts in history and will likely bring his career earnings up to $1.5 billion by the time it completes.

On August 5, 2020, Barcelona announced it could not afford to re-sign Messi and he would therefore be seeking contracts from other teams. Five days later Lionel announced he had signed with Paris Saint-Germain. Lionel’s new contract with Paris Saint-Germain will pay a salary of $75 million per year. The contract has an option for a third year.

He was reportedly willing to accept a 50% pay cut to stay with Barcelona, but league rules forbade this from happening. Even at a 50% pay cut, Barcelona’s salaries would have equated to 110% of club revenue, when league rules require that number to be 70%
